Quasar Wins A Prestigious CGMA Annual Award
Quasar Medical Wins “CGMA Excellent Practice in Management Accounting of the Year” Award Shanghai, November 23,
HONG KONG (March 15, 2023) – Quasar, a leading contract manufacturing company for minimally invasive medical devices, and micro-sensors is pleased to announce the appointment of Aviel Bohnik as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) to support the company’s future growth and expansion. Aviel Bohnik will report directly to Quasar’s CEO, Alex Wallstein, and will be responsible for leading all the company’s operations, infrastructure, processes, and people across the value stream.
To further strengthen the company’s rapidly expanding presence and workforce, Quasar recently also promoted Linda Tung to Vice President of Global Operations HR. She will report to Aviel Bohnik and lead Human Resources in Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Thailand, and Singapore.
“As Quasar continues its strong growth trajectory, it’s critical to evolve the management structure to ensure the company can continue to scale,” said CEO Alex Wallstein. “The appointment of Aviel Bohnik as COO and Linda Tung as VP of Global Operations HR represents a critical step in this direction as we continue our focus on strengthening our value stream integration. This will empower us to deliver an unmatched quality and responsiveness of turnkey solutions to our medical device customers. I am excited about the energy and leadership both Aviel and Linda bring to the team.”
Aviel has been an integral part of Quasar’s team for the past seven years, serving as the EVP of Global Operations for the past two years. During this time, he has played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s manufacturing capabilities, including establishing manufacturing locations in Dongguan, China, and a new facility in Chonburi, Thailand. He was also instrumental in successfully integrating Creganna Medical PTE. Ltd. in Singapore, a subsidiary of TE Connectivity, which Quasar acquired in 2021.
Aviel’s appointment as COO further strengthens Quasar’s focus on putting customers and employees first. His promotion comes as a result of the company’s impressive performance in recent years, including successful expansions, vertical integration, and scale-up.
“With the depth of our 35-year brand heritage, which started in Israel, our truly distinct growth strategy, and our extreme drive toward quality and efficiency, Quasar is on the launch pad for more upward trajectory. My vision for more integrated operations across sourcing, manufacturing, people, and infrastructure will support the company’s further growth and success. To say I’m excited about the future of Quasar and what this team can accomplish for our customers would be an understatement,” said Aviel Bohnik.
Linda, who has been with Quasar for more than 12 years, is a member of the Executive Leadership team and played a vital role in the successful staffing transformation of the organization, which grew from 300 to 3,000 employees under her leadership. Her extensive experience and expertise in HR make her an ideal fit for this new position.
“I’m energized by the continuously growing talent, know-how, and teamwork at our organization, and there is no shortage of that at Quasar. At Quasar we have a strong commitment to our employees: growing and engaging the best talent to build a winning culture that values the contributions of everyone.” said Linda Tung.
Quasar has demonstrated impressive growth over the past two years, expanding its operations in Thailand and China. The company’s 90,000 square feet manufacturing site in Chonburi, Thailand, has produced advanced medical device solutions, including over 10 million intubation tube set units that have aided the global fight against COVID-19. Building on this success, Quasar is working with the Thai Bureau of Investment (BOI) to bring a micro-assembly for minimally invasive cardiovascular catheters to Thailand, which will elevate the country among a select few globally capable of producing such a complex medical device. Meanwhile, Quasar is expanding its operations in Dongguan, China, with a new 11-floor, 370,000 sqft state-of-the-art facility. The new facility will feature a new in-house microbiology lab, multiple class 7 clean rooms, and production capabilities for China NMPA/MAH projects and is planned to open its doors in the second half of 2023.
